WordPress don't allow Affiliate Links???

I am confused? I came across Mr Yarow's blog about using WordPress to build a blog to generate income, then I build a blog using WordPress and found out that I could not put Affiliate Links to use my blog as an income generator.

I read in Wordpress threads that they might consider to allow it in the near future?, including Google Adsense. (Also, as an option for a fee).

Am I getting my perception correctly? Or is this info outdated?

I know blogger allows Adsense and lets you put affiliate links, or is there a better alternative?

(edit) forget it, guess you mean free wordpress blog, if so just use Blogger

you can do anything you want with self-hosted wordpress, and you can download it from wordpress.org

as a matter of fact, wordpress.com can actually put their ads on your blog if they wanted to, lol.

this is very possible. You can also find wordpress themes with adsense code already built.

Yeah, they do -- that's how they make money. It's clever too because they hide ads on the blog when a Wordpress member is viewing it, so the Google Adsense ads are mainly displayed only to visitors who arrive at your blog from search engines.
