![]() | Suggestions for imroving my forum (1800 unique visitors/day). Hello, i have a forum which has 1800unique/day and i want to make some changes. First of all im using SMF 1.4 , and i was thinking to add a joomla portal and a bridge with smf. I dont want to have just a forum, but more. (Portal with news etc) Do you have any suggestions? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes, don't do it. Try using TinyPortal instead. The last time I attempted a joomla bridge, I spent 2 days rebuilding my whole SMF site. Your best bet is to set up a completely seperate instance of SMF and Joomla, get them working exactly as you want and then import your database into SMF. Then repoint your traffic to the alternate url. Ideally, if you time it right, you will only lose a few posts from the time you import the database to the time you repoint.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | bridge can work if u start from the beginning with it, if u have one forum dbase running and then u add Joomla and then u want to synchronise users u should experience some tasks to solve. Its not so difficult but if u dont have experience pay someone to do it for ya. I tend to advise people to have to separate dbases and to register twice.
