As a nontechnical newbie, what tools should I consider for developing my first basic web site using a web hosting service? Lunarpages gives you something called Coffee Cup, and I have read about phpwebsite, joomla, etc. Any suggestions for getting started would be appreciated.

| it really depends on what you want. if it is a simple html site, none of the above are needed. just a plain text editor such as note pad really. | |

Then, I would get FireFox and install FireBug (FireFox Plug-in).
Load up your page in firefox, press F12, click enable firebug, click inspect and start learning the wonders of CSS! |
