Wikis that use HTML instead of the wierd syntax?

I'd like to find a PHP wiki that does HTML syntax rather than the weird syntax mediawiki and all the others use. I understand they were programmed in the 90s when people didn't know HTML but more people know it now days.

I've done a google and looked at comparison charts but none of them ever show that feature.

Look at table of contents near top of page and select number 3. Numerous free hosting available.

Currently I am using Wikidot.com which currently does not have an HTML option. It does offer free hosting and you can use your own domain by changing the DNS info and point to the site. The creator/founder is a fellow in Poland named Michal Frackowiak. He answers every email. Many changes since I joined and many on the horizon. I like this site and have learned to used the syntax. Just takes time. And I do not know all of it and still do not understand all of it but I am learning.

I have also used PBwiki.com which is very easy to use, still not HTML but very easy to manipulate and maneuver. Less of a learning curve.

Hope the link helps. If find one that fits your needs, let me know so I can check it out also. It would be nice to use some HTML if that is what you already know but I am not sure that is the basis for a wiki or open source, although they are becoming much more accomodating.

I didnt mean I needed hosting just that I was searching for a Wiki that uses HTML instead of that wierd syntax, here is an example

Use the link to FREE HOSTING. This link contains numerous wiki sites that may accept HTML. Not that you need hosting. I understand what you are asking.

Then click on each wiki media link. There may be some that permit HTML. You'll just have to spend some time exploring the links.

Never knew there were so many. Still have not found one that accepts HTML?

You may need to consider Joomla or Limbo. They are another open source CSS but I know they have an option for HTML embedded. I just recently taught myself Joomla. It takes some time, but it is worth it. And free. And many extensions. And flexible. I like it. My site is www.ceuq.com. Just redesigned it and released it Jan 2, 2007. Not promoting the business aspect of it, but I wanted you to see how a rookie pulled off such a complex project.

As for wiki, the easiest I have found is PBwiki.com.

Wish you success and if you find one that takes HTML, pass it on.

Looking at the link you sent, PMwiki may be a good fit for HTML users.

Says no HTML or CSS needed and there is an option for HTML plug in. Did not spend much time on the site but it may be worth exploring.
