Huge drop in visitors?? Awstats and Webalizer..
Hello,

yesterday i checked my stats and i saw that both awstats and webalizer dropped about 0-70% on all of my sites for the day before.
Now today i checked for yesterday and on one of my sites it says that from 5k daily i went to 409 daily.

Now that is clearly impossible, i can say ok, i may have dropped on all my MySpace sites, but even on italian and unrelated sites...

Also i have google analytics on some of my sites and it is displaying normal stats (no drop in visitors).

What do you think it's going on?

I am hosted @ hostgator, can someone that is hosted there also check please?

Your best bet could be to email host gator. The stats collection may have had an error for a few hours or is not yet updated correctly.

But your best bet is to email their suppoer to find out the problem.

Hey tnx darren, i already did, they said it is fine on their side, but they will check day by day.

Just wanted to know if anyone ever experienced something like this..

I perosnally cant say as i dont host at host gator.

However i can say google anayltics is pretty stable at getting correct information and generally matchs up with my awstats quite well.

Just monitor it over the next few days and see if it stablises.

I use Awstats.

Incredible!....im not hosting at Hostgater I have my own dedicated server and I have the same problem!

I tought it was a problem of my server o something else but...as you see there must be a problem of Awstats!

The last Saturday I had 7495 visits and this one only 2900!!

And all the week I had the same problem...I couldnt believe that somethin happened...some days with 8000 and some with 4000!!

Hey Domino, do you have a dedicated from The Planet?

And also, do you use WebAlizer? If yes you could check if even that program reports the same..

I use Mirimar Networks and I dont use webailzer but I can if I want,...I never beleived in webalizer...the display and the differences with other stats īnumbersī...

I was ever worried about stats and a year ago i start to use Clicktracks, and I get from them very different stas and I never knew what to believe. But I heard that they are focused on ecommerce websites so I dont use it anymore, and also I have some problems when I changed server.

I must start using Google Analytics (ex Urchin)

I was wrong!!...and right also...Mirimar its the same company as Hosting Network...so thats because we have the same problem...what can we do buddy?

Email support. There is not resally much you can do if their is an issue with the server when collecting stats.

i am using just Google Analytics but i cannot add all of my sites there, and do not want to pay!
