· #1 | | NamePros Regular | An Idea for Proxy Webmasters I was at work today looking for a proxy to avoid a web filter. Unfortunately, the filter had also been set to block proxy websites. It took me a long time to find a proxy website that worked.
My guess is the filter was blocking websites with the word "proxy". I don't know if my situation is unique or not, but it might be a good idea for proxy websites to avoid using the word "proxy". Network admins aren't stupid, you know. |

| Try using Tor. If your admin is anal enuf, he's blocked Tor's node indexing server, but thres a good chance he hasn't.
Alternatively, use something like hamachi or OpenVPN to connect back to your home net and route "restricted" traffic thru there. |
