| Its not a bad idea, but its not a particularly good one. Websites will always be successful if the owner markets the website correctly and manages the site well. Its going to be particually hard to advertise a website such as this because it is on a very popular subject. There will already be 100’s of other football forums trying to get the same SERPs that you are. To really make any impact on the football forums market your website will have to offer something unique.
If you think you have the dedication to run a football forum every day for the foreseeable future then go right ahead, there is every possibility that it may become a success. |

| I think you could get some people if you knew friends that played and were willing to post. Then they tell other people they know, because people usually share common interests, then you are money. Start small with like 5 members and go to soccer chat rooms and stuff. It might take you awhile but I am assured you can do it. |

| a friend of mine owns www.soccerpulse.com and its not easy work to keep a soccer site active. You can expect to spend at least 4-10 hours a day working on the site, until you can find a number of trustworthy mods to help run the site.other than that, everything iv heard here seems to be good advice. "live updates" is somthing you should definatley have. IMO. |

| I started EPLforum.com a month back but never had the time to promote it. Receives a steady stream of visitors from MSN due to it's strong name and also affiliates, but they won't join unless it's really active. I'm thinking of providing incentives soon and will post here again if that works out. Because like Jon mentioned, there are already hundreds of such forums around. |

| I started www.Footballers.biz and its not really happening. Plenty of soccer forums out there already. I just want to get mine off my hands now really, after like a month. |

| You'll get nowhere if you try to call it soccer in England. We use the proper word to describe it: football. |

| Depends on how much work you put it, it will either be a good idea or a bad idea. |
