Is Yahoo Search Marketing the way to go?

I'll be brief:

After many hours of contemplating, I decided that it might be best for my site ( www.poetryrealm.com -- down as we speak, due to a server change... should be back up tonight) to be listed with Yahoo Search Marketing or Google AdWords. First, here are my thoughts:

I'm running a poetry website, so I don't need to pay $0.50-1.00 per click for the keyword poetry. That rules out Google. Yahoo has about a 12 cent per click rate for the same keyword.

I also need quality traffic, but I'm not in a hurry to get thousands of visitors a day. So both would work. I think

Also: All I need is people to sign up for my site, not people to buy web hosting or something. So paying a dollar per person isn't the way to go. Echo to the earlier statement: I'd rather pay 12 cents a visitor.

NOW:

I've read some pretty bad things about Yahoo Search Marketing. I've heard from ppl who have clicked on the $100-Credit link and haven't received that promised $100. I've heard they are slow and sometimes unreliable.

So my question to you ppl is simply: Do you think Yahoo is the way to go? I could sign up with $30 (to get the $100 Credit) but would it be worth it? Would I even get the $100 credit? If you have a Yahoo Search Marketing experience, please post it in here. I'm planning to do some marketing on my site - like anyone, I want to make sure my advertising dollars are being used properly.

If your not getting any normal seo traffic, I'd use both adwords and yahoo until you get a steady traffic source.
