Ive got the basic layout sorted, and some decent code. I preview it in Mozilla, woo, looks ace. The i decide to check in IE, and what do you know, it looks absolutely rubbish!

Todd

Please, unless you know what you're doing, don't play the blame game. You made this page using Fireworks and for some reason you just expect the code to be perfect?

I bash IE daily, but I do my research before I start whining about it. I'm surprised ANY browser could render your page at all. For instance, your <html> tag starts inside a table cell. You even close the <html> tag half way through the page.

Furthermore, nearly every value has a space before it, and some values have double quotation marks whereas others have single quotes.

Sorry for being harsh, but I wouldn't let my own browser display that page.

its ok, all of your points are fair.

Im not sure whats going on with the <html> and <body> tags, as according to dreamweaver, they are at the start and end of the page.

The single and double quotes are because Ive been constantly dipping in and out of php, and you have to use single in php. They are all sorted now.

No excuse for the spaces, i guess i just like it spread out more, thats sorted as well.

still didnt work

However, I got my friend to look at it, and he fixed it. He put it all into separate tables and it displays fine now

cheers Rowan W for your constructive response, 5$ be ok?
