· #1 | | NamePros Member | Change nameservers instantly - flushdns DomainSite.com and other domain registrars now provide dynamic updation of nameserver records. Still, after updating the ns records your dns cache has the old nameservers stored. So it can take upto 24hrs to be deleted automatically.
To do this manually (in order to view your site ofcourse!) goto COMMAND and type: ipconfig /flushdns
that's it!
To clear DNS cache on operating systems other than windows vist http://www.tech-faq.com/flush-dns.shtml for instructions.

· #2 | | New Member | hmmm interesting.
Godaddy has been pretty quick lately, usually 2 to 3 hours.
Ususally doesn't matter so much, at least with a new domain name but in cases of emergency might be very useful backup mechanism. |

| This works only in your local system and that too in Windows.
The change is not effected throughout the world.
I would call it a 'cheap ' trick. |
