HOWTO: Fix BIOS if you can't use a boot disc!

Ok, well I've been asked by a couple people so I'm going to create a public tutorial about it. People keep telling me that they cannot get their boot disc to work. Well, the most common cause is it is not being read. The reason for this is because something is wrong in your BIOS. So here are some easy steps to fix this!

DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for any damage your PC may undergo! Do NOT play with your BIOS unless necessary!

Well, depending on your computer there are different ways to get into your BIOS setup... Try the following ways until you have it: (Do all these on initial PC boot right as you power on the PC)

Hold "ESC" key
Hold "F2" key
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/webmaster-tutorials/201530-howto-fix-bios-if-you-cant.html
Hold "F10" key

Whichever one works you can use. Now that you are into your BIOS setup, go to the "boot" option...

Look at the sequence.

Use your arrow keys & highlight "CD-Rom Drive"

From here, use the "F6" key to move "CD-Rom Drive" to the top.

Now that it is at the top, save & exit

Now it should automatically restart, make sure the boot disc is in the system!

There you have it! It now will boot your boot disc!

On a lot of white box Pc's you willl find it is the "Del" key to enter the bios and "+" and "-" to change options.

Key's you have listed will work on brand name Pc's mainly.

On some of the later systems (past 6 months or so) "F8" on startup will allow you to pick your boot device.
