![]() | Mini Site hosting I am thinking about getting my start in domaining by building a few mini sites first that have adsense ads. Would free hosting make the most sense? It's not like my sites will have hardly any traffic at all so that wouldn't be a problem. As long as I can find one that doesn't go down that often I should be good right? Or would you guys recommend something like dyadot that is like $1 a month? Thanks for your help Darren |

If you think about it, $1/month would be around $0.80/month after fees - and how much support, uptime, disk-space, and bandwidth could you realistically expect for around that price? (Of course, I know that economies of scale kicks in, but the idea is still the same )I'd personally aim to raise your budget a little (~$5/month should be fine), and hunt out a host who has high uptime and all. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | However, I do believe getting a free host may not always be the best solution. There are operating costs associated with any kind of web host and one operating for free usually requires ads on your site to stay free. If you are looking for hosting that has reasonable uptime with no ads and no around the clock support, I am sure you can find something out there for a couple bucks a month that would probably suite your needs. Try posting in the Web Hosting Requests forum (http://www.namepros.com/web-hosting-requests/). I am sure someone would be more than happy to make you an offer on a hosting package.

![]() | Rather than go for $1 hosting, I think I'd go the free route.

![]() | I am looking for one for bulk. I plan on building one at a time and keep going . I ended up just going with godaddy because I found a 20% off coupon. Probably not the most popular choice but I thought I could start there and move somewhere else later. It ended up being like $3.50 per month for a year. I got the smallest package, but it looks like I might be able to have at least 10 sites with that package I think. |

![]() | I personally do not recommend using a free web hosting to host a website. You can never trust a free web hosting, one day you wake up and your website is completely gone. Just invest few dollars in a paid hosting and at least you will know that your website will be safe and won't be compromised as with a free web hosting. |

![]() | That happened to me once. Though the website is still up until now, I can no longer access the Control Panel making it useless for new updates. Though it will be great if you only want to have some fun but if you happen to take it seriously, I recommend you don't use free webhosting websites. You will be just wasting your time instead of earning money with your website. |

![]() | I assume for $1 per month budget you will be able to have solution for the web hosting account for one domain name only not for bulk

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Not the greatest choice Godaddy is great for domains but I'd never recommend them for hosting. Oversold servers. You can find reliable hosting for multiple domains right here on Namepros for something very close to $1 per month. Just search the forums. Note most free hosts will limit the amount of domains per account, or not provide databases for Wordpress (great for minisites) or they may display their own ads.

![]() | Honestly, if you are building any type of mini-sites, you really should be willing to spare a few bucks per month to get good web hosting that you can rely on. I personally have many hosting accounts used for different types of websites and this ensures that uptime isn't an issue. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | imho, you should probably budget closer to $10p/m for a cheap linux based host with cPanel and multiple domain hosting for your minisites. e.g. dynadot hosting with unlimited domains is $90 per year. thats just an example based on your question though. I don't usually recommend hosts that tie you in to a yearly contract, and i've never used dynadot hosting. i think they only recently started offering more than basic html hosting.
