Frankly speaking I think that there is no best host ever and I think that there are many good hosting providers which can host vBulletin forum. I would to suggest to have a look at apthost.com because I believe this company is flexible and stable enough to satisfy all your specific requirements and keep your web sites always online. Think that this info somehow will help you.

Honestly most default hosting configurations (LAMP-based) should handle vBulletin just fine. The things you really want to consider would be details like the amount of traffic - is this a high traffic forum, or are you just starting out?

The nature of a forum makes it a bad match for heavily oversold environments, though, once it does gain some activity. I would personally suggest avoiding these unlimited and extremely large offers because it just means you'll be forced to move once your forum picks up on traffic.

Do you have any particular hosts in mind right now?

I agree, most lamp-based hosts meet the requirements for vbulletin. What really matters is the server uptime, the storage, and the bandwidth you need to run the site successfully. Also make sure your hosting package supports MySQL databases!

Recommendations is not on shared hosting as you may find your database will be very insecure.

VPS and dedicated server is your best option. Although don't forget to harden your installation and optimize it as you may find VB starts to get chunky.

It is definitely not hostmonster. The company is a well-known overseller.

I would name a2hosting.com as excellently suitable by lower price and great service and support, and also serverpoint.com which has special;ized application hosting accounts being widely known for high quality of providing.

Hello!
I suppose that you can visit Vbulletin support forums and ask the same question there. I have seen on the forum the web hosting related issues are discussed

If you are planning to run a vBulletin forum then I would suggest seeking a webhost that offers requirements you are after

Oversellers are not too bad, However, You will notice that you will reach an end on resource usage pretty quick because of their limitedness on resources given to each client. vBulletin boards just like other boards use quite alot of CPU/RAM.

You may want to look at smaller Hosts, Though I cannot recommend one for a Good vB Board

I use Justhost, not sure if it would be good for your forum, but it suites my niche sites well.

On the vBulletin community forums, they have a specific forum dedicated to hosting and reviews. That may be very helpful in finding an appropriate host.

I assume that that paid web application was designed to be hosted on any server and I assume that any who use that will be able to have that hosted on the major web hosting providers.

Don't sacrifice security and quality. It is not ideal to jump into affordable web hosts in which in the long run can lead to many problems such as web site accessibility. I think that globaltap.com would be a good place to order hosting at affordable price. It has been providing hosting for a long period of time, so you can give them a try.

Almost all the hosts provide for nice support to vBulletin. Actually speaking hostgator also hosts some of the big forums on vBulletin.

^^^^ Ok, Hostgator says that they give unlimited space in their BABY plan.
Do they actually give that much unlimited space?

I think annually billed dayanahost.com would be good company to deal with.

Also you may have a specilized account for vB from serverpoint, if you do not like annual billing.

Before you choose a host, ask them for an IP address of one of their client servers - then use it via this tool:

Reverse IP Lookup - Find Other Web Sites Hosted on a Web Server

and see how many domains they host on that server. If it's too many (say quite a few hundred) then avoid that host since it'd suggest they are overselling/overcrowding their servers. I seen a GoDaddy server before with 1,800 domains on it! (It wasn't a too powerful server and server loads were at 4 in the middle of the night!)

That is correct. But at the same time you might have no idea about that how large are their servers. So that might be not correct survey little bit
