| Make Money Off of Your Host? Hello everyone,
I am starting possibly an affiliate program at my hosting company. I was wondering how many users would find this appealing to be able to get hosting and even make money off of their host. You guys will be the determining factor on whether I open this up or not.
For example, a client registers for hosting and as an affiliate. Per user he/she recommends to the company he/she will receive 20% of that profit as a reward. (In a recurring fashion of course)

| Many webhosts do this already, some that come to mind are HostGator and WireNine. Many of them pay high prices for the simplest referral. You could try it, no possible loss in doing that - but since there is so much competition out there you may not get the outcome expected.
We have been doing this at VPSByte for about a year and only have a few hundred active affiliates, while I know those larger companies have thousands. It just depends how you wish to promote it and how your commission is.

| Thanks for your input The only problem is giving a percentage to my commision rates seeing as the plans are so affordable is difficult because 100% of the plan itself (unless a VPS) is not costly at all.

· #5 | | NamePros Member | Seems to me hosting companies that have very loose referral strategies tend to be good ones, such as mediatemple.com and pair.com.
So it really doesn't matter to me whether it has affiliate program or not. |
