Question want to move to VPS. Need help?

I am having a linux reseller account , As my customers are increasing I decided to move for vps.

I have many sites hosted on this reseller account, if I go for VPS can i move all the websites of my customers from my cpanel reseller account to vps. Is it easy or possible to move all the accounts to vps, one thing i dont have knowledge of pros and cons of vps. Still can i go for it.

In my mind I have one thing, I have decided to download each customers website to my desktop and upload it to new vps account. Will this be good?

If I buy vps is that i have to configure it. Is vps is similar to reseller account, once activated all worries are over.

is vps comes with managed and unmanaged.Where to buy cheap VPS.

I think VPS's are better than resellers because they have more resources, which you can modify and delete. You can buy cheap VPS packages at SpyderzWebz.com. If you're going to buy a VPS, sometimes you have to buy cPanel, DirectAdmin or some other control panel if you would like one.

If you get cPanel on the new VPS... you can just transfer all of your accounts using the automatic tool.

Also, it's not so easy to setup a VPS. It's not like a reseller, where all you need to do is create the accounts and packages. On a VPS, you need to setup things like updates, Apache, and more. The menu in WHM probably contains an additional 50 items than the reseller account has.

Try rapidvps.com

Joey is correct though if your going to try and download all of your clients data to your own desktop your not going to get anywhere fast that way.

Use the remote FTP feature to get all your data over to your new VPS quickly.

Go into cpanel for each client site. Have it download a FULL backup into the home directory. It will email you once that is done (usually quick) Once you get all those files you can do this.

Once your VPS is up you will login as ROOT in WHM and there is a option to restore a cpanel backup. Restore it from there and your customers accounts ect have been moved which includes any emails, databses ect.

You can only restore this backup from ROOT in whm , if you try to restore it from cpanel itself you will only get the files and no email accounts ect.

I hope this helps as I have had my own unmanaged box for 2 years now. Any questions please drop me a pm
