manage hundreds domains (dreamhost ?)

Does anyone know a great hosting plan to manage hundreds domains ?
It's mostly for parking like page, i don't need many space or traffic.
I think about dreamhost (with "namepros" code), is it great for that ?

I also wich to change all "website" at once.
They will use the same template, i should change all domains at once (if i change my email address for instance).

I think about a single php page for template, and a few informations (title, keywords) for each domain.

Do you think dreamhost will be good for that ? Any other suggestions ?

Thanks

I am doing exactly this with DreamHost. It works great for this type of use and It is simple to set up the a domain-I find more simple than when I was using cpanel.I do not know any way to instantly change multiple websites at one shot but I use a style sheet which I can change and quickly upload to each site in a rather short time-thereby changing all the sites. You can log in once with your FTP program and access all your sites at one time rather than logging in to each one seperately.Hope that helps.

Dreamhost is very good company. One of the better ones in the market. However, their support could be sometimes slow (the best reply time I've encountered is something like 36 hours). Another things is that you'll most probably never use it - everything is simply too smooth and simple.

On the other hand, you'll most probably would like to browse offers in http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4 or anywhere else in hosting-related forums and search for the best host which fits for your needs.

Good luck!

Hi:

I'm a newbie in this. So, could someone please kidly explain for I would like to make sure that I can host unlimited domains of different contents (for each domain) using their crazy plan. (say sport domain that has sport content, and other subject with different content)

I read their faq page about dns control, that they only offer it in the most expensive plan as they explain that it gives a control to break (the hosting) from them easily. That leaves a newbie like me in puzzle. Does this mean that if I don't have a custom dns, I will be stuck with them and cannot break away with them easily? Does this also mean that I cannot change the dns server setting later (to point to other host) once I set up an account that hosts several domains with them? I registered my domains at godaddy. I believe that the absolute control would still be mine by using godaddy control panel to set the dns server to point to whomever I prefer whenever I like, is my understanding correct? So, why are they saying that the custom dns feature has the benefit of breaking away from them easier? Are there any more negative things about this that I should be aware of?

I never actually used DreamHost, but DNS controls are usually for adding MX (mail) records and other types. It would let you set up a mail server on a different host. I think that's what they mean. GoDaddy is where you would manage your domain from and you could point it anywhere you want.

As for multiple domains, if you add on a domain, you basically create a folder where that domain would point to. You could put whatever you want it that folder and you would have multiple folders for multiple domains. That would let you make each domain have unique content. It also lets you log into one account and have access to them all.

I ended up writing my own script (it should be released soon), that lets you control all you domains from any host. It's mainly designed so if you have a WHM account, you can create seperate cPanel accounts for each domain and then control them all. It lets you point and click on someone domains and pick a parking service, and all the domains are now parked there. You can also change it to have content.
