Question want to know about VPS

I am a reseller of hosting.I have cpanel/WHM. That is good.I know to create a hosting account from WHM.www.purohits.com

I want to know more about VPS.What is that?(LINUX or FREEBSD)

If i have my own VPS will it will be right for me?As i have no knowledge of VPS and i dont know any technical about it.

Can i operate VPS of my own without any technical knowledge or can i learn how to operate VPS from any source.

Is there any link where i can know about VPS and how to technically operate VPS

Any major company which offers VPS cheap.Reply Plz

vps is like having a dedicated server. the company offering it usually may offer cpanel. and usually it's an umanaged service, you have to do things on your own

VPS, you can get either Liunx or Windows on it... linux HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! DONT GET Windows lol...

VPS is a dedicated server that is split up into X amount of accounts, you are given a share of the cpu, ram, space, bandwidth etc etc, and you get almost all the same features as a dedicated host also, but it can come at a cost compared to normal reseller hosting.

Most VPS hosts offer WHM and CPanel included... i reccommend you check out http://www.varhosting.net, they are managed VPS, and THE BEST managed VPS on the planet i swear! Sometimes they will answer and fix your problems a minute after submitting a support ticket, they have the best support ive ever seen for sure. Check them out, we are hosted by them.

If you don't "know" Linux, I'd suggest sticking with a reseller. Managed servers or management solutions are all fine but there's still the greater risk of you breaking something if you have root access and you're not sure what to do.

That said, I use www.powervps.com for 2 cPanel VPS's (I don't use cPanel much anymore, my dedicated servers are all DA). I believe I pay $50/mth for each server with a few dollars extra for upgrades. I'm very happy with them. I guess in this case I get what I pay for.

You could always check out www.layeredtech.com and for a similar price to PowerVPS you could rent a truely dedicated server. If you need more space and bandwidth but less processing power, this would probably be the better option.
