Is it the normal that hosts don't support sessions!!

Hello,

2 hosting accounts in a row now do not support session_start() in my code, is it becoming the NORMAL?? I wonder.. it wasn't like this, I used to be with a few companies and I never faced this problem. Is it going to be a programming standard? so that I need to avoid any session function in my code?

Thanks,
--Ahmed

Well, it should be enabled you sure you used session_start(); <<< ? If so and doesnt work then they might have disabled it to prevent any load on the server. Try cookies instead

Thanks Karim, but I don't want to use cookies I don't know, this bad luck ~ two hosting accounts in row disable session_start(); in top of page, do you consider this that they don't have the knowledge to setup things correctly in php? I think it has to do something with php.ini..I'm not a server tech though.

Thanks, I'll just get another host..but I am afraid, i have to ask first.
