A successful telecommunication company in Cyprus, with a strong track record over the last 8 years is seeking one or more software developers to join its office in Murrieta, California. The company is well-capitalized with a group of around 11 employees working in a team-oriented environment spread in 3 different countries. Virtually all of them are engaged in software development on a daily basis. The atmosphere is casual and the management structure is relatively flat. There is strong interdependence, and everyone’s contribution is highly valued.

Position Summary

We are looking for talented software developers. Software developers work in a number of different areas, depending on current need and individual background and interest. Successful candidates should have the flexibility and skills to contribute in more than one area.

Skills and Requirements

We seek software developers who can focus close attention to detail and who can work effectively with others. Other prerequisites include strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work efficiently and prioritize effectively.

Because of the company’s culture and small size, a premium is placed on independent, self-motivated people who excel in their field of expertise and who demonstrate an ability and interest in learning new systems and technologies. We take a long-term view when evaluating new hires, so a candidate's exact experience is less important than evidence that the candidate can achieve a high level of performance and can adapt quickly to find solutions in new areas.

We expect successful candidates to have experience in a number of the following general areas:

• Large software systems: design, development, testing, and maintenance.
• Programming languages: strong experience (e.g. with Java, C/C++, Ajax, PHP).
• User interfaces: including monitoring tools, graphical interfaces, web tools, and web development.
• Databases: experience working with SQL databases.
• Production systems: design and support of operationally critical systems.
• Large data sets: experience developing programs to parse, process, and/or analyze.
• Operating systems: systems programming experience particularly with Unix

Compensation

In addition to base salary, a substantial component of total compensation may be tied to annual bonuses that reflect individual performance as well as performance of the company as a whole. Initial compensation is likely to be around $3k / month, perhaps substantially above this amount. The possible range is quite broad, and will reflect the experience level of the individual candidate.
