| NamePros Member | An idea of mine What do you think of this idea? I've purchased templatebranch.com, and I'm going to make a site similar to TemplateMonster.com EXCEPT the methods will be different. Anyone can be an author/creator of templates, they create an account and submit their templates. This is what will happen: Let's say Joe Bloggs submits a template and sets it's price at $100. If the template is sold once, then Joe Bloggs would get $70 creditted towards his account, and $30 would go to TemplateBranch.com. Basically TB will get 30% and the author will get 70%. How's it sound? Any negative aspects or problems noticed? |

| NamePros Member | I don't really know how TemplateMonster is operated I think they hire their creators on a hourly wage basis. This website idea of mine would give an easy option for people to sell their templates (as marketing templates individually is rather difficult at times) |

| NamePros Member | Thanks Snake, I think I'll do 20%, also I went to TemplateLagoon..few things I noticed: 1) The site itself is a free template 2) Very unprofessional design (cluttered) 3) Clicksor ads screwed up on the bottom I think if I do something professional it could work (EVEN if there are things like such out there already). |

| NamePros Member | templates.com already does this, I sold one of my templates on there (they keep 60% of the sale, and the designer only gets 40%) A lot of their templates are rehases of other templates that are sold on ebay, boxedart, or TM Even though its already being done, don't let that stop you, there are always ways to improve a service/product. |

| Man from Manila | What happens if someone comes to you later claiming that the template you sold them was actually stolen from someplace else, and the supposed 'author' had no distribution rights? While you can of course sue the author for cheating you, you would still be liable to the client you sold the template to. This will never be a problem if you create your own templates, or personally oversee your designers during the entire template creation process. Just a thought. Its a crazy world out there on the net, and you have to protect your reputation and your business.

| NamePros Regular | Hi! I should agree with armstrong. Unless you are dealing with a reputable and reliable sets of design artists, it is better to oversee. You will never know. One possible issue is the use of licensed images. Also make sure your terms of service protect you from untoward incident that may happen. Consult a lawyer perhaps? (This may be an overdo, but it pays to be safe). Take care and good luck!
