Isit possible to change from phpbb to vb and transfer all the posts and users?

I've heard that it always messes something up. Besides, I bet the databases are WAY different.

Yes, it's possible...there is a script out there called Impex which will do it...of course it isnt flawless, but I dont think that you could expect it to be....it works quite well considering everything that needs to be converted

does anyone know how well it does? I may consider using this. Would be very nice to have if it didn't REALLY mess up.

I havent gone from phpBB to vB, but I have gone from IPB to vB...and like I said, considering everything that it does, it works quite well...It's not perfect, but that's only expected...if you are going to convert, it's definitely the way to go...I'd consider myself intermediate to advanced as far as PHP/MySQL and forums...and it probably took me a few hours to figure out IPB to vB...with about 170 members and 4,000 posts...and a handful of mods

Well, like I said...I've never gone from phpBB to vB...but I'm pretty experienced with both of them and have used the vB import system before...I wouldn't want to commit myself to anything, but I would be willing to offer you some help for a cheap price

You might want to consider going to IPB instead, if I am correct they can convert you over no problem.

I did a phpbb to vbulletin conversion actually I've done it three times, the only problems I've ever had were the smilies got messed up (one time) but it takes like five minutes to fix the smilies. If you have any mods on your phpbb board once it's converted you won't have any of those mods on the vbulletin. It's very easy to do this conversion all you have to do is follow the instructions for ImpEx, it's pretty much fool-proof.

Hmm might be the way to go. is there a site you can link me to about mobs for IPB? Like is there a Cash Mod etc? Thanks!

IPS will convert for you, yes...but not for free.

As far as mods go, check here - http://www.invisionize.com ...I dont have links for a cash mod on me though
