![]() | Serious Business Proposition I am not entirely convinced that this is the best way to approach this but I have seen the work of some of the very talented members of this forum and suppose it’s worth a try… …The small business I work for was born out of a long-standing relationship with one specific client. This soon became two clients who demanded a great deal of our time. During this period it was very difficult to find the time to develop a portfolio. The bulk of the work has now come to an end and the business needs to expand and develop on it’s own two/four feet. Here lies the problem. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-development-wanted/14728-serious-business-proposition.html The web developer (programmer) has taken up a permanent position with one of the clients leaving me, designer (artist/visualiser) and now sole ‘employee’ behind wondering whether or not to continue. I personally do not have the development/programming skills to go it alone, and I would need to continue outsourcing everything but design and graphics. So the upshot of this predicament is that I am looking for a partner/s. Why not simply outsource? Well that’s very simple; half of nothing is nothing. I am looking for someone who has either potential clients and looking for a designer or who is able and willing to help develop a client list. The first task is to develop an outstanding portfolio in order to showcase skills to future clients. In an effort to develop this ‘folio, I would like to offer a number of web sites free to not-for-profit organisations (charities and such) and a number of others at a substantially reduced rate. I am not talking ‘the local charity shop’ here. I am a member of Community Action Network (CAN), a community of social entrepreneurs, regeneration workers and community activists throughout the UK and now branching further. I also have ties to the School for Social Entrepreneurs in London and Cardiff, as my wife is a mentor. We also have links with Demos, the Foreign Policy Centre and an assortment of other organisations. I have free coverage in a few 'community development' newsletters with a readership of several thousands. It is my view to write an article and submit adverts offering this free/reduced web development. Of those who apply, several projects will be accepted under certain criteria, namely those that will highlight skills and have a reasonably high profile. There is obviously a lot more to it than is outlined here but I will elaborate further when the time comes. Any paid work undertaken during this portfolio development will be divided equally. Further projects will be subject to a partnership contract between Creative Alien and the chosen developer/s. So if you are interested please send some details of completed projects (outlining your involvement) and/or relevant skills and experience. Thanks for reading Will info@creativealien.co.uk |
