[Contest] - Logo - UpTo $50.00

Right,

I've trawled through these forums for along time, and have even entered several design / logo comps myself, al be it I'm not that good

So, I thought I would be bold, and have a go at actually having a contest myself. I hope everyone gives it a go.

Contest Rules:-

Contest Length
The contest will run for a period of 1 week (7days) as from the time and date of this post.

The Site : MemorySpot.com

The Deal
We reserve the right to choose or not choose a winner at the end of the 7 days. This is why it says "upto" $50. When there is one that "grabs me by the short and curlies" tthen we have a winner

Otherwise, I may make you an offer for your work, and it has potential but isnt "the one".

A Winner = $50.00 to that person.

The Concept
People will be able to visit the site, and search for collectables and gifts. There are multiple sections covering the goods we offer.
To name but a few:-

Postcards (from 1900-1970) (Main Area 40,000+ items)
First Day Covers
Fine Wines (£50-100+ per bottle)
Rare Liquers
Sports Memrobilia (could be a big section)

IT IS UK CENTRIC!!!

People would search for a particular date, lets say my birthday, 28-dec-72

We may or may have something relevant on that date. So, I would purchase that, it would come in a nice package, etc so it can be given as a gift. Or, utilised by a collector.

There is deffinately a feeling of the past, and nostalgia, however, it's got to say stylish...and be "with it" from an online/internet perspective (*shrugs*..lol).

The final design and product must be supplied in a PSD layered file, as good a quality as possible, without being a 100meg file

And also scalable.

Colours
As far as colors go, have a look at : http://ms.sy4.com
The soft red and light blue are likely to stay...but not confirmed.

I'm also going to say a white background. As this keeps it simple.

You said that the sports memorabilia section would be big, so I decided to focus on that. Its all vector and, if chosen, logo will be suppled in .jpg, .gif, .eps, .ai and .psd formats.

Not a bad opener

(sorry about shorter post earlier, in a rush)....

IT IS UK CENTRIC!!! <--- take note plaese

Therefore think Cricket, Football (not US), Rugby...not BaseBall, BasketBall etc...

I would prefer it to feel more nostalgic...kinda has the feeling of "US Footbal/Baseball arcade"

See above, as I have added a slight "update" so you can test the logo.

Additional Note : Tippy suggested an animated clock going backwards as the "O" in spot. Not a bad idea if someone wants to try it

It doesnt "grab me"...I dont think WOW!.

And it sticks to a section...I'm talking a company image....must emcompass what we do and why

Try testing in the "Update " info above. With the url etc.

EDIT: OK, I'm done with it.

This one took me a long time to do. I really hope you like it.

The clock is made by me, so if you want it edited, that's ok (however it might take a while; it's a lot of work).

It can be resized, of course, to make it fit into your site.

Also, the exact same red color is used in my logo as in the preview site (http://ms.sy4.com/index2.php?x=). Any colors can be changed.

Please give me feedback on how to make it better, if it's not exactly what you are looking for.

NOTE: The gif is originally continuous... it does not stop after the first rotation. It just stops it for some reason when hosted on image hosting sites. I do not know why this is happening, so I'll figure out a way so it does not stop. I'll do this later as I am not at home right now.

Wow, I just went onto a different computer and the animation is working perfectly without a problem. I guess it was just with that computer? The hand is now moving contunuously.

Is anyone not seeing the animation continuously?

EDIT: Also, if somebody wants my clock, I can sell it to them hehe. Full with resale rights (and of course I can make it so it goes forwards)

Morning Everyone.

Thanks for all your input so early on. Alot of what I'm seeing so far, is stuff that I've covered kinda sorta myself whilst trying to do the design. I know, I know, this is ALOT harder than your normal "domain / Hosting" design. Welp, didnt say it was easy

So far, I would say "lextalionis" is the best. Although even that isnt really what I'm looking for....ish.
