![]() | How to do a website report/summary Have you ever had to do a report/summary for a website you created to someone? I built a website for a company and they need a report of the work I did so that they can officialy announce it. It's the first website that I built for money, so I'm not sure what to put in that report/summary. Shall it be like a dissertation? Shall I put the programming languages I used? The softwares? What support I received? Or more? How should it be formatted? I'd really appreciate if you could help me.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I did something like that for a client a looong time ago but it was very detailed. I had to write about : - color scheme - what made us use the color scheme in question - brand/logo/identity - what it represents - why it's appropiate for the client's site - navigation structure - content presentation - support area - search engine optimization process and why it's important to the web site - programming languages used - layout And a bunch of other stuff I cant remember right now

![]() | I thought generally a content writer did a review for the site. I guess what they are wanting is the details of what you did...maybe the programs/software you used. I really don't understand what they are asing of you myself, why they would need that type of information for a press release...as I said earlier, generally a content writer does that sort of thing for press releases and such. This is just what I have found through research and such. I would just write up a report stating what I did, the layout, programs, etc...I used, etc... and leave any "reviewing" (for the actual site-it's content, what it offers, etc...) up to a content writer. You were the designer not the developer...you didn't decide what their content would be, who they would target as their audience, what their purpose would be...did you?...lol, so I would just stick to writting a report of what I had done for them, I don't think you were hired to "critique" the site for them, that is somebody else's job. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/97083-have-you-ever-done-website-report.html Hope I was of some help and Good Luck, Nikki

![]() | Thanks for the replies. Nikki and StudioWorks, that's what I was looking for. Thanks a lot! Although I know that's not my job to do this, it's just meant to be symbolic so that they can approve the website and have it uploaded. I wouldn't want it to lie offline after all the hassle I've been through. |
