Totally redesigned...What do you think?

www.lasara.org

I've just redesigned the first web site I had ever done for a volunteer search and rescue group. Please have a look and let me know what you think. I enjoy critism as it helps make it better. What do you like? What needs to be changed?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/96921-totally-redesigned-what-do-you-think.html

There are few problems with the layout that I am having. The left bar is an absolute positioned div. The main content is a relatively positioned div. Both are inside a relative container. The footer div is absolutely positioned at the bottom of the container. The problem is that the absolutely positioned left bar overlaps the footer when it is longer then the main content div. How can this be fixed?

Here's the link to the site: www.lasara.org
Here's the link to the style sheet: www.lasara.org/css/lasarastyle.css

I also don't really like the layout for the supporters page, www.lasara.org/fundraising/supporters.asp

This page is used to display the companies that have donated funds on different levels (platinum, gold, silver, bronze, etc.) Does anyone have any ideas how to make that page look a little better?

Thanks for your comments in advance.

kpm547 - Looks very nice. I like it, plenty of information on it. I would improve the color scheme tho.

Good CSS work!

It was originally design with tables, but I changed it because of the flexability you have with divs and css.

Jon, what browser are you using and how does it mess up?

Studioworks, thanks for the praise. The colours are the group'ssolour scheme. The wanted it to go with their scheme.

Thanks for the comments. Any help on the layout with the left bar overlapping the footer?

Hi, I'm using FireFox, but I noticed on your site "best viewed in 1024x768" I'm browsing in 800x600. Maybe that is the problem..

I originally designed it for 800x600, but then somewhere along the line, it didn't fit in 800x600 anymore. I think I should scale down the images and the menu. The menu is the main problem. One too many links.

It looks a bit weird, Some of the things cut at the bottom of the page.

I just noticed that too. If you refresh the page it fixes that. I'll have to check out the padding at the bottom.

What browser were you using?

Div's are much more flexable than tables, and a lot more accessible.

Looks good, I would highly recommend making the site friendly with 800x600 resolutions...you'd be surprised at how many people have small monitors. In fact I use two monitors one 19" for everything and on 15" at 800x600 for designing that way I know everybody is going to be able to view my site with ease.

I also use the 15" monitor to keep Namepros displayed 24 hours a day...literally

Thanks for your comments. I'm going to make the site compatible with 800x600. I'm already usign two monitor, but I never thought to set the one to a lower resolution. I'll give it a try.
