Cool Please Review My Site

I wanted to run another poll to see what everyone thought concerning the site I work on. I have 4 different categories that need to be critiqued:

- Graphical User Interface (GUI)
Do you feel the interface has easy navigation? If you were looking for something on this site, were you able to find it with ease? Do you have any suggestions to make it better?

- Design
Are things located where you would expect them to be? Is there empty spots that could be filled? Is there too much clutter? Do you have any suggestions to make it better?

- Graphics Quality
With the graphics you see on the site, would you say they are professional, semi-professional, or amateur looking? Do you have any suggestions to make them better?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/80447-please-review-my-site.html

- Content
Is the content relevant? Is the english written well? Are there any mispellings, (US english?) Do you have any suggestions to make it better?

Don't feel obligated to critique, you may just participate in the poll, if you like.

(But those of you that do critique: just kidding!)

Here's the URL: http://www.onyxtop.com

Don't include that poll next time!
I like the drop-down effect but the site is too simple.

Expand on 'simple'.

My target audience are non-computer savvy contruction workers, contractors, distributors, home designers and home owners. I would like to spice it up, but then I get in trouble with compatibility issues. In what way could I enhance the site w/o causing a 'butterfly effect'?

It's not too simple in my opinion.
-It looks well organized, and I think it'll do well for your target audience.
...the only thing I don't really like, however, is the bright blue background color that you use on the left sidebar when you view a content page.

I think you are trying to achieve an expensive, luxurious feel for the products - which I think the banner does

However IMO the rest of the site lets it down a bit, it just looks a bit 'basic frontpage esq' - i.e. the plain text and the way the images are presented to the viewer don't work. maybe think about making them a little bit less 'in your face' - to be honest the first and last thing I saw and the only real thing I can remember about the site was the brown shower cubical (maybe this is what you are trying to get - I don't know?)
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=80447

I like the drop down menus though.

Sure you will get there, it won't require much more work to sort it out!

Regards Aunty. (sorry I didn't answer your poll - a bit late in the night for me to be thinking about it )

Rowan W will become famous soon enough

1. GUI
What GUI? All I see is text with menus. I think you should use some clean, colourful icons of about 25x25px in size that represent each section clearly as part of the navigation.

The current navigation is horrible (IMHO), first of all the cursor doesn't change on rollover, so it doesn't look clickable. It's also very plain and has no colour, why not match the colours to the gold and brown you've already used?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=80447

Lastly, the navigation changes on every page, which means you have to keep going back to the main page just to get somewhere else. This is extremely confusing.

2. Design
Again, I don't see much of a design, just a simple layout filled up with text. Use your imagination and creativity.

3. Graphics
The banner looks nice.

4. Content
Looks a bit plain.

I like it , even if it's to simple , better having a nice simple site then a complicated ugly website.
Good Job!

It is not ugly, but just needs a tad bit of improvement is all, there is a "Home" button on each site or page. However this is a great business you have going, are you looking for business worldwide, state wide etc?

I think all in all it's very average. The site is very dull and needs alot of work, but the graphics are not bad designed. The content could have been better, but the site loads quickly so that's another plus. All in all very average, and needs some work

On the main page, I changed that aqua-blue to a grey color. A guy that had designed the initial site, felt the grey toned down the site too much... I disagreed and changed it anyways. I would like this to be a universal change. But in the future I had plans to get rid of it all together. The reason: to give more space for graphics and content.

Thanks! That's the feel I was going for!

I see what you mean. The color could be more 'theme-ish', would have to play with this a bit. I would like to sync up the navigation, make it more universal, also a work in progress. Thanks for the critique.

Just within the US. (Not even Canada or Mexico.) It was only the midwest at first, but we are now nationwide. Getting it overseas would be a huge challenge! We are the only company, that I know of, that is willing to do custom lavatories and showers and put a guarantee on them... no matter what!

I would have to agree, it is dull, but I'm glad it loads up fast... those with dial-up appreciate me for this 'plus'.

Sure, anything could be re-done... But consider the time, and money involved... would you pay me $30/hr to redo the whole site if you were my boss?
