Dental Website Review

Good morning all,

I have created a sample home page and am looking for your valued feedback again. I have submitted this before and there was a lot of comments regarding the colour. I am resubmitting this with changes I have done in CSS and added their logo and picture to see if it looks better. The picture is not final as they are responsible for that however, I have requested to my client to go back to their graphic artist and request a better logo.

Looks pretty good...I would recommend using random latin text for filler though. Looks more professtional.

I like the colors, looks very clean. Which is important when thinking of dentistry.

I like the general feel of the site. The header and footer both have a nice style about them. Overall i think the colours are almost there but still need something. The main one being that dark blue border, I'd change that.

One more point. I'm viewing at a fairly high resolution and the main content runs longer than the header does. Two ways around this, you could set an absolute size in the table. Otherwise you could add 3 cells to the end of the header cell, set the width to 100% and change the bg colour accordingly. This way it will resize to the window.

Hope that makes sense

or better yet, stretch the last line of pixes across the page! (i just read that in another thread)

i like the layout, only thing i really don't like is the two different shades of green and purple in the header, that seems to just not fit well with the rest of the layout IMO

It has a great feel to it. Which is something you need considering most people don't like going to the dentist.

I have two negative criticisms though.
1) The borders dont seem to match in colors and size, which is simple to fix.
2) FRAMES!!! NOOO BAD!!!

you cant see all the links if you have a resolution of 800*600 and you cant scroll to be able to see them.

Also "Water View Dental" image is looking a little blurred.

I think you should change the blue rollover link to somthing else it's to strong compared to the rest of the design.

agree with the blue rollovers.. not too fitting for the rest of the colors.

I'm not sure, lacks some focus in my opinion, nothing that draws my eye.

I'm having the same problem as berryfearns, i'm at a really high resolution, and the site is just too big for my screen!
also... theres just something about that mouth picture that repulses me.. but, you did say that's not the final one, right?

I'm gonna get really creative here....

I like the logo.. it's way too pixilized, but a really nice idea.. so your colors should all be tied in with that, perhaps you should just make it a 2 color site., with the white and that awesome deep blue to match the logo!!! You should also add some graphic embellishments here and there, similar to the form of water on the logo.

IMO, putting the menu ABOVE the scrollbar makes people feel claustrophobic! Please let us scroll down the whole screen!!
It would look nice and classy if the menu text looked identical to the logo text, only smaller. (if you really wanted to be really spiffy, you could make a little icon show up under a menu option when it's scrolled over.. one that has the same color as the logo water, but looks more like the s shape of toothepaste on the brush)

Oh and I just have this weird image in my head of a cup filled with toothbrushes.. maybe sideways, i dunno.. but i think it would look cool stuck on there, maybe at the bottom.. but with a white background so the pic doesn't look tacky.

...creative enough??

Layout looks good. The color of the hover links really dont match the site though.
