Color looks good. However addition of buttons will make it look more good

I like the header area, Now the yellow background and the green backgrounds behind the entries not a huge fan of them. The yellow one, just makes it hard on your eyes IMO. maybe if you went with a different color background other than white, then just a duller color for entry backgrounds or just didnt have one.

Looks Good

I think you should keep the typeface ("simpleands one and only mod") on the header the same as "Ching Simple And" you otherwise have a big contrast of modern type with traditonal looking type.

You have a good start, and the location of elements (ie. nav-bar, links, etc.) works well. However, here are some alterations I would consider:
  • Provide your company/affiliation/site name near the top (or topleft) of the page - branding is very important.
  • Make the nav-bar links stand out - use bold, underline, or a different color, as the current nav-bar text is too subtle.
  • Increase blog thread title padding - the thread titles are pressing up against the black design on the left.
  • Increase blog thread text padding - it would be easier on the eyes if the green background were to be extended, providing space around the main thread text.
  • Lighten page background-color - the grey is too dark.
  • Watch your image compression - the corners on your main arrow design appear "fuzzy."

These alterations are simple to incorporate, so why not give them a try and see what you think?

every body needs to begin somewhere, some of the details are pixelated. some buttons could bring the site to life or just a more atractive menu bar. Keep playing around and it will become good. Also put a name some place where it can be seen.

I would add a big title with a logo to tell viewers what your site is about right off the bat. I like the arrow effect though.
