C&C on page template

I'm developing a website for my clan on Halo 2, and I would like some early feedback on my design. This is just the template of it for now, but within the next couple days I'll probably have at least a mock-site up. Any Comments or Criticisms are welcome (suggestions too).

I also have run across a problem. I want to put a text box inside the large gradient square, however dreamweaver doesn't seem to be able to do that. Any hints? and I'm also having trouble getting a style to work to repeat the background (static) around the page (to fill the empty space around what I already have). is this style right?
