Feedback on new gaming site

Hello all. I have just created a new site dedicated to video games and would love some feedback on it. I am fairly new at web page creation and html/css, so any suggestions or comments are extremely welcome.

Hmm..I just installed Firefox 1.0.1 and loaded up my page fine.

I'll have to try the others. What exactly is it doing on your browser?

Logo is excellent and design has lovely colours although I feel there could be more structure to the site maybe some images to seperate the side menu to content or something I don't know what it is I just feel something is missing. You say your new at html/css well I think this is a excellent attempt and keep up the good work, looking forward to see some more of your work.

Thanks all! I must admit I had help with the banner/logo and also the code for the site was based on the GENU 2.1 content management software, altho I have modified it somewhat. Still going to modify it some more. I'm thinking of going to a 2-column layout with navigation on left and main content on the right.

What do you think?

Nice logo
The orange headers doesn't stand out as much as the links, maybe a colour change would be good?

It seems a bit boxy to me. Of course that could be a stylistic choice but then I would fill out some of the empty space.

I, personally, am a big fan of page centering too. But that is just a matter of opinion.

Your "Browse demos" pages has a form drop down for "demo title" that is too wide for its column.

It looks like your copyright is squished in your center column. Maybe it would look better in its own row with a colspan under the columns above it.

I like the your links and headers are concisely titled. I'm sure anyone referred to your site for a particular item will have no problem finding it - and that is the most important thing.

Thank you all for the feedback! I'd like to keep the yellow headers, but what color scheme would go with them as far as body text color, link color, link hover, and the current orange headers? The background can be changed as well, but I'd like to stay away from black.

Well, the layout issue should be fixed and I fixed a whole bunch of validation errors. See what you think needs changed now.

First problem, your using a CMS for a gaming site...So everything is in a preset order, no uniquess except for colors. Same layout as every other site using, GENU so about a few hundred maybe. You need a new banner, kinda seems faded, like an old piece of paper, I'd contact a designer asap. Colors are boring. Layout is bad anyways. Uneventful, no graphics use, its a gamingsite, ever consider puting in gaming graphics? Overall suggestion: Contact a web designer and ask him to build a site.

etc.

Get rid of the beveled borders on the tables, and also the gold menu headings, layouts good, personally i dont like the logo, content on the site is excellent.
