Review Please review my Florida Classifieds listing site

I am looking for reviews for my new classifieds listing site: MiamiDadeClassifieds.com

I know there is competition with national sites such as craigslist and others. However, I thought I would give it a shot.

It is setup on a Wordpress theme plugin. The header looks bare at the moment, but that spot is for placement of a banner ad. Does the site look to generic which is keeping people from posting? Does it need a more local feel? It gets about 10-20 visits a day. I am looking for any changes that might get this thing going. Anyone on here live in Florida that would like to give it a shot to get the ball rolling? The site is free and I will ad adsense and advertising to it later. I just don't want it to have a spammy feel to it. I set up a twitter account and I have around 75 followers.

Any review comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think you could improve the professional feel greatly if you paid someone here $30-$40 bucks to design you a quality logo. The one in place looks like it was designed about 10 years ago. There is a section here at NP where logo contests are posted. Check it out.

That does seem like a lot of space in the header. What size ad do you plan on placing there?

You will have to find a way to differentiate yourself from Craigslist. What service do you offer that makes your site special? Will you offer your posters something in return? Maybe look into enticing them with a newsletter with discounts or something of the like.

I would change the "Post an Ad" button to "Post a Free Ad."

Now, I'm not trying to burst your bubble here, but you are going to have to put a lot more work into the site if it is going to make you some serious money. What you have done with WP and the plugin takes most people familiar with WP about an hour or less. How about a video showing how easy it is to use your service and why it is better. Start a weekly contest. Right now I'm showing you at #6 in Google, so you have good visibility at the moment. But you need to get the viewers to post their items ASAP to keep you on page 1.

Best of luck.
