Archon MkIV is an unknown quantity at this point

How can it be version 2 if it's your first self-designed website? In any way it's a nice site for a 1st or 2nd try. Here are a few suggestions for you...

- The site has little content, so it might be better off "framed", that is as a box surrounded by a background, such as a pattern.
- Replace the images of text with real, CSS-styled text.
- Keep it to one language.

Archon I am sorry but I dissagree completely. The site is great for what he was going for, you can tell he attempted a simplistic design. Overall is was pulled off well, and the site is great for a portfolio.

Rueck nice work.

Very nice

I must agree.
This site is very contemporary. I am so over sites with repetitive tiled texture bg's or those being confined in boxes.....
This is a beautiful execution of minimalist design. What it may lack in complexity it makes up for in 'design'. Well done.
And I also do alot of my type in image format,...so much more control over non-dynamic text than using web-fonts. CSS is great,....but not for everything.

cheers

OK, I have one thing to ay do not use images for text. It's simple as that. It is not practical, useful or good in any way. It sucks. Completely. Utterly. It increases load times, makes it very un-user friendly because they cannot highlight it etc. End. Of.

I agree with Archon on this, he brings up some good points. It is a little TOO simplictic and also, a rollover with the text color turning to black on the navigation would be real nice!

Rowan W will become famous soon enough

Will couldn't have read my mind any better.

The links on the left are too light.

It's a nice design though.
