Blog review - www.whatscookingatdd.com

Hello! I've been working on a new blog design at http://www.whatscookingatdd.com that's meant to be a well-organized collection of news & useful information about Dream Dinners. I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions about the design, navigation, user-friendliness, etc. Most customers/site visitors are female, which is why the colors are a little more feminine. Thanks!

Hoping another attempt will get a review - another thing I'm looking for feedback on is loading time. It's a little sluggish for me and I'm not sure if it's hosting company, Comcast, or coding. Any comments would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hey I really like the header design and the overall colors work nicely for the site. Easy on the eyes and legible. The load time is the only real issue as it took about 20 seconds to load for me and we have a pretty fast connection here. Good luck with it.

Some suggestions -
I understand that you are having a page for a day. I feel it will be better if you create separate pages for each dish and also add categories to it (say - chicken dish , shrimp etc) so that users can click on the category and see items of interest.

The advantage of this in addition to user convenience is that you get more pages and each page can get well targeted ads. And there are more probability of users clicking.

Incase you are continuing to use the current format, I feel the separation between dishes need to be more visible in a page. Maybe you can make the titles (for example "GRILLED PICNIC CHICKEN") to be slightly bigger in size so that the whole page does not look like a single dish, but a collection of dishes.

But altogether, I like the design.

Hello! Thank you so much for the comments! nmridul, I will take your advice and will make the titles of the menu items larger to make sure people can tell they're distinct dishes. Given the nature of the information (a new menu every month) I'm not sure if the page option would work, but it will definitely make me think if my site is organized optimally.

script, for some reason load times were much quicker for me today, but since you're having the same issue I did, and I think my image sizes aren't too big, I'm going to assuming it's the hosting company and will probably switch it from netfirms to godaddy.

Many thanks for your feedback!
