VidsHome - AJAX-based Interface

VidsHome is my idea of how a video streaming website should look like.
http://vidshome.com/ Use the demo account if you are too lazy to make your own.

Some of the features.

Desktop has icons for each category which can be clicked to browse for videos.
There is a basic search engine in the lower-right corner.
In the video player, on the left, you will see a menu of the last played videos.
Users can share links such as http://vidshome.com/#play=34633&name=megamix with others, and the website will play that video.
For videos not at vidshome, http://vidshome.com/#open=http://www...?v=MU2SzLDzz6o , just put youtube, megavideo, myspace or veoh url after "open=" and you can watch the video through vidshome.
Go to System->My Account to add your youtube or megavideo account, and the system will extract your videos and favorites.
System -> Change Wallpaper let's you specify url for the background, and the look of it.
Click the button next to "System" to open Start Menu. Start menu provided quick access to your videos, favorites and recently played videos.

This website is still in progress, so I am looking for comments on users experience with this interface.

I must say that I am impressed by the design. But instead of "demo" you could have a third option for a guest. Some people might be confused as to whether they are supposed to join or click login if they just want to visit it.

I must say that your design is very Vista (Aero?) looking. Especially all the menus and windows you can have. It is very much like an OS in itself, which (does not appeal to me) but looks great. As an interface it is very easy to use and very intuitive (to a windows user).

The main menus don't seem to work (Applications, Places, System) but the little pop up Vista-like menu does.

I really think you have outdone yourself with all this ajax.

Though I don't like how it opens up maximized, I would rather not have the large videos all the time. But very well done. Good luck.

Though you need to put an explanation a bit what the site is for.
