Lucid.me

My first developed .me domain. Currently in the process of making a website based off a previous (and still current) hobby of lucid dreaming. I made this entire website from scratch. There isn't very much content as of now, but I would just like input on how it looks to you, what improvements could be made, and etc. I would like to have this done by the end of this month.

Thanks!

Edit: New Columned Layout in Progress (from below suggestions, now is maybe looks 2002 instead of 90s hehe)

Also, since there is a lot of PHP/MySQL code, I'd appreciate it... if anyone finds some sort of security hole, please let me know ASAP! I've made everything pretty secure hopefully, but just in case I missed something, please let me know.

Looks very 90s. No offense that does not mean it is not a good site. Some things to consider are sidebars. This will provide easier navigation, give readers more to click on/ read, and it will help out the stretch effect you have going on with the page. Possibly wordpress for the cure of this? The header could be worked on a bit. Other than that obviously the content has been thought out and is quality.

Good Luck!

I was considering columns, but I feel I will have nothing to place in them. I wanted to get some content up (still some more to go) so that I could get the links on the side.

But yeah, I do have a column to the right in my layout off-line, it's just very blank right now (unless I add a skyscraper advertisement to take up space for now?). It's got a few links, the poll, and I could throw in a shout box for the sake of space. I'm think about putting some categories like "most viewed", "highest rated" and etc.

I've been stumped with this one. I've tried setting a set height, with the CSS an overflow:auto; to the div block, but that does not fix this! It just adds scroll bars (which I do not want).

But yeah, thanks for tips so far. Both repped.

I know the layout is pretty plain, but by the end of this month I should have pretty much all the scripting done, and September I will just work on improving the layout.

Layout has been updated. I've now got somewhat of a column layout. Also cleaned up the URLs. I'm going to work on making the banner look less boxy, maybe I'll just but more transparent black around the edges to give it a more rounded look. The forms I'm still working on, I like using fieldsets, but I need to work on making them blend in better - maybe a different color gradient for the title, and I'll probably use custom edges to make them rounded instead of square. Leave comment fields I think they just need small touching up. I'll probably change the four main links to tabbed links as well. Everyone seems to be using those.

Also, I realize the search bug in FF2, where the little search button is under the search bar (looks fine in FF3 and IE7) so that'll be fixed as well.

I'm slowly getting to the more modern design...

Edit: Few more bugs in IE7. I need to start developing properly and design for IE7, and just make sure it looks fine in FF, and not the other way around. Looking through the site in IE, and there's a few things here and there that are off. They all look easily fixable though.
