its definitly far from complete....just want an opinion on the logo and colors

I like the colors, I think it would look better if you made that entire banner area filled up at the top either with another banner or center it and add a backround. Just my thoughts.

Clean, simple - harmless.

I agree that the header needs attention - or is that big space for banner ads?

yes, it is for banner ads. currently no banner ads in rotation though so empty space for now
