MMORPG Fansite/Forums | Design/Structure Review

Hello guys, I'm not here just for a design review really, but here for a structure review too. Successfull forums revolve around a decent structure and an active, friendly community. I was wondering what you guys though of my structure and the design combined?

We've had nothing but excellent feedback from the members, they love it!

What's your input

Thanks.

If it works for your members, that's all that really matters. I'd like to see a bit more visual entertainment by incorporating images into the thread headers and generally would use colors in the CSS that represent the main colors of the game that your forum is based on.
Also, if you can get to 80% liquid with, you'd gain the side rails for additional content or images that can be embedded in the backdrop.
Outstanding favicon!

Thanks Mike, +rep.

Really was a great review and i'll consider the 80% liquidity.

Cheers!

Everything seems good to me I just have a couple of thoughts like I would place the login in the right side column at the top. Nice easy access, non-obtrusive and leaves the news at the top of the content column but then again it has a nice position for getting people to register and/or immediately login.

I was expecting a link to the forum at the top of the portal page instead its off to the side not hard to find but I would have placed it on the main navigation.

Also some info on the game or at least a like to a nice informative page would be good for newcomers who don't know much about the game although most people who come will probably know about it. Like I said just some thoughts .

Last thing, there is no way to get back to the portal page from the forum, not sure how important that would be but might be nice to have.
