Butcher's Site

Hello everybody,
I've built a website for my employer, and I'm looking for some quality feedback. It looks like namepros.com is the place for that.

The website is found at http://www.slagerwouters.nl/home.php

It hasn't been launched yet, and there may be some little bugs here and there. I'm most curious about wether you think it even *looks* liike a butchers site, and is the colourscheme well chosen?

Thanks in advance,
Wybe

That's actually a pretty good site.

A few enhancements that i'd suggest.

Make the site more personal. It appears as if the shop you're working for is not associated with a supermarket chain, therefore, personality counts. More store photos, staff introduction, get staff members to submit ideas for the recipe of the week, eventually present your favorite cut of meat, etc. Basically anything that's getting more personality across to make the consumer/customer feel like they're entering an environment where their personal needs are being taken care of rather than being "just another customer" like they are in the chain markets.

The order online feature is great, is this for pre-order and store pick up? If so, i wonder whether it's possible to offer delivery, starting at a minimum order amount?

Since you already have a logo, use the red "W" as Favicon as well.

You've made a nice BBQ section, how about some more details about meat. What each piece is called, where it's located on the animals body.
(example: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._Beef_Cuts.svg)
This gives users a better idea of what's available and what they're ordering, for the case that they'd wanted to try a new recipe or different cut of meat.

That's it from my side, i'm sure there will be more evaluations to come.
For the start, very nice work, not 100% done yet, as you said in your intro.

Interesting site.

I really like the navigation, but I found it very distracting. Some of the icons did not load, and your logo is not very apparent. The space between the top bar and the navigation is valuable area that needs to be filled up with something, be it a logo, icon, slogan, or a customer testimonial.

The content is okay; I think you should give more information about your store than a mere list of prices and details. Also, remember that the Deze Week box is empty

I have the same issue with the bottom; the footer is empty, and something should really go there. The picture seems a bit random; it's obvious that it's a photo over your store, but I think you should add a caption.

I think you focused a tad too much on making it web 2.0, and you missed out on the personality of the site. I agree with Intelbank and his suggestions; add some meat-related fun stuff, and you'll have a really nice site.
