I'm assuming it is the site in your sig, if so there isn't really much to review, it is just a basic phpbb install as far as I can tell. You need a new fresh theme, so you site stands out from the rest.

Indeed, the only deviation from the default install is that you added a small, yet generic graphic to the top right corner.

There's practically everything missing that would give your forum any individuality. At the same time, you have a domain, an idea and have the basic install done. The foundation is therefore established, now the "real" work begins

Review of: ForexHolic.com

INITIAL APPEARANCE

Upon first glance of the site, I happen to notice that this forum appears to look as though it was just recently installed. There are very few posts as well as a limited amount of boards to post in. The site also appears to have very few registered users.

ADVICE

Just like any forum owner, you need to start somewhere. So having the site up and running is a great thing all on it's own and I applaud your initiative to start a presence on the web. However, now that you have got the forum online, here is a list of some things I feel you should work on to help improve your forum's potential:

DESIGN
One very important task is being unique and standing out from the crowd. I would strongly reccomend changing how your forum looks. If you are not much of a web designer, there are a number of templates online that you can use for your forum which can help spice it up and make it more attractive to new visitors.

DEVELOPMENT
Another thing I notice is that you have a limited amount of forum sections to post in. If you want to attract new visitors and discussion, it will be a good idea to add more topics for them to talk about. Even if it does not have to do with trading. For example a board called Lounge or General. New members can post in here to get to know eachother better and discuss other off topic items. Seeing discussion going on will help lead to discussion about other things such as what the site was mainly intended for.

PARTICIPATION
One thing I cannot stress enough is participation. It will be hard getting new members to join your forum but if you work hard at making new interesting posts each day, it will give people something to reply to and discuss. So you yourself taking active part in posting in your community as well as inviting other friends to take active part will definately help you out.

CONCLUSION
Those are some of the main things I feel you should focus on. Doing that could help you dramatically with beginning your online community. I wish you luck!

Oh, you reminded me of Forex.. I have been trading for a while. Well, you need to have a unique template look and feel and stand out from the default template.

As the current theme does not really encourage forex traders to register and communicate.

What about having your template where you have 2 header bars. One for logo /left--adsense right.. and one inside it graphical buttons (navigation bar). Along with changing all other colors on the default template.

Good luck with forex holic!

Hello you should use phpbb3 rc5 if your going to use phpbb.

Its a good idea to have a forum about forex, you should include some forex affiliate banners on your site. People spend alot of money on that site. Be cool if they have rev shares.

You should also hire a forum poster to add some content and members or add more yourself.

If you need help with a custom template or installing mods for your phpbb forum I can help, you can view more info HERE
