Site design review

please let me know what you think, im giving my company a complete new identity we will now be known as Skilled Graphics

i would appreciate feedback on the design, it is not functional right now, just a design.

Somehow, your logos in your portfolio are better than your site design. The wordpress blog with the palm trees that you designed would even be better than your main template. I'm certain that you can create a template that actually transmits your skills rather than hoping that the user is actually clicking through to your portfolio. Unfortunately, you have less than 30 seconds to capture the users (ie potential client) interest. Thus, it has to happen on your frontpage.

Get your skills out and "wow" the user.

perhaps, but this was done in about an hour, so changes will be made, i know its kind of plain now, but i like plain, and from my past experience, many clients do as well. Sometimes simple is better, but thanks for your comments

if you'd seen the old site you would realize its a big improvement

I'm not against plain, on the contrary. Plain and simple yet effective is good. However, when your portfolio is visually by far more enticing than your actually site design, then that's throwing a few questions marks for me. Don't get me wrong, i'm not out to "bash" your work, but your portfolio alone demonstrates that you have a LOT more up your sleeve than you're letting out on your own design.

Actually I've seen the site yesterday and hesitated to comment, because you would not like my comments.

But to be honest, your site needs a lot of work, the navigation is not very professional. I love so much simple and attractice templates, but this is not probably the case in your site. for example, if your main purpose is designing logos, why not take some flashy screenshots on frontpage so that clients can know your logo design skills?

Try to change the font, i think a verdana 10px will let it look more sharper. overall it looks ok
