Please review! I'd appreciate any input on this site

Hello,
I recently submited a site for review, www.lessonlistings.com, and I decided the original design wasnt good enough. I had it redesigned and this is how it came out
LessonListings.com

I made the header and the image at left myself, the rest was done by the guys who coded the site.

Any opinions, criticisms or suggestions?

I appreciate any input

Thanks
Ryan

No offense, but the first thought that came to mind was: Ah, another e-book, email address collecting, eventual spam site.

I'm sure there are other interface options. Options that establish a clear visual difference between your site and sites that just want to sell something and then be "out the door". A little more tie back to music would be great as well. In short, i think the essence of what you're setting out to do is getting lost with the overall design you're using.

Excellent feedback.
Id love to hear any suggestions you might have. Is it the entire layout in general, or only certain elements?

Thanks
Ryan

I'll give my feedback in an bit, but there is a typo in the middle next to the small image of the guitar on a piano table.
LessonListings is written LissonListings.
Just pointed so that u can correct it before ur members see it.

Made some changes to the layout. Took out a few eyesore objects.

Id really like to hear more about this, especially from IntelBank on exactly what elements contribute to the "spammy" look so I can fix them.

Thanks for the input guys

Diabetes
design is missing an overall smoothness,

- add HOVER effect in header menu, its looking dead right now

- Border color in boxes ( red one ) is too dark i feel

- add a thich break in footer area ( like HR before bottom links )

Hi
What exactly is hover effect and how would I add it to a menu thats part of the header image?
Right now the menu links are part of the header and then are image mapped to be links
