Review A Site 4 Me

Hey everyone,

well I just tossed togeather alittle site based on the area I live (BC West Coast) pretty much the site is a information hub (Weather, Web Cams etc) useful for boaters, people heading out on a day trip. If anyones ever been up into the back country.. you know it is damn important to check the wx up here and having live cams up to see certain remote locations is kind of handy I thought.

CWX.CA is the url.

Not all areas are in affect (recreation/accom/resources not up)

Just want to get some feedback before I finish the rest.

Thanks in advance!

Like the header, the content isn't bad either, though the nav bar is visually disappearing. I'd magnify the nav bar, add some background color to the buttons, simply make them stand out more.

Content is pretty neat, especially the web cams are great!

Overall, nice job - improve the nav bar and you'd have a very neat looking & useful site here!

hi, I just checked on your site and it's a nice one
but, personally I would suggest you to try to make the topbanner a little bit smaller
also, try to increase the size of the font from the left menu

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I thought about reducing the size of the banner (on all but the main page) I just love that picture, personally taken by me . The side menu I agree needs some more attention.

Overall, it looks good, particularly the main content area.
The weather reports are clean and easy to see.

Now for the negative stuff

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/346572-review-a-site-4-me.html
The top banner is a beautiful photo, no dispute, but on a 1024x768 resolution (yes there are still a lot of us on 1024x768) it takes up 75% of the screen!

I don't like the crosshair cursor on the left hand menu - IMHO, it doesn't improve ease of use.

Suggestions / ideas:

Would it be possible to sort the weather listings alphabetically?
This might make it easier to find the desired region.
(Or is it sorted in some way that makes perfect sense if you live in BC?)

Thanks for the suggestions NameCodex, I agree with you about the main logo, I am going to reduce the size. Aswell the side menu is getting revamped as we speak

the weather listings are mainly in order of location, not all, and any listed with NO current forecast should relocated to the bottom. Some of the weather station feeds haven't been updating. (In the process of fixing that)
