Boardvideos.net - extreme sports videos! Review!

Hi there...

I launched www.boardvideos.net just a week agoo, and I would like to hear your guys comments on the design and layout etc...

Also, any extreme sports people here btw ?

The layout "feels" canned; i.e., loosely modified wordpress theme. It's not necessarily bad though, using wordpress as a platform is a wise choice. The color scheme is a little strange to me, but my tastes lie in more spartan designs, so that's probably my bias talking.

As for the site itself...I like it...I love videos of people getting hurt trying stunts. This is a site I'd add to my RSS feeds.

What!? the videos are all from youtube! weak! Seriously, a few you uploaded yourself would make it seem less generic. It just doesn't feel authentic to me, sorry.

You can try to give more contrast to ur website by designing a dark blue background instead of that gray.

there's gotta be a better way of presenting the boarder world. boarders are known for creative riding styles, risk and sometimes even coolness

Capitalize on these terms. Graffiti, designs, tattoos, gear, etc. Just displaying youtube vids contained in a wordpress frame is not enough.
Where are the blog opportunities where hardcore boarders or newbies can talk about their development? While you don't need to give them the opportunity to upload their own content, you should at least provide the opportunity for them to link to their own content on youtube - save bandwith and remain individual at the same time.

Backdrop, general screen design and UI needs to be laid out focusing on your target group. The header is generally "ok" on the right hand side, the "board videos.net" needs a serious overhaul that speaks to your target group. Just a font/color combo is too mild.

Don't get me wrong here, you're off to a good start, but nowhere near where you need to be to make the ultimate boarder site.

The internet is saturated with this type of website, they all seem to be after the same thing' google cash'.

No offence but just seems like a rush job with very little creativeness.
