Review My Directory Please

Please take a peak at my PR5 Web Directory:
http://www.bluefiredezign.com/
It has a somewhat unique (of not especially polished) layout & structure.
I spent some time trying to differentiate this directory as much as possible from the numerous identical PHP directories which are out there and make the links
as SEO friendly as possible. More content will be added as the Dir grows

Straight forward, yet just another link directory. Yes, you changed the framework a little bit, but essentially, you've not re-invented the wheel. Then again, why should you? Your directory is PR5, you know that you're successful and that your structure works,...why worry?

hope you don't mind if i'm brutally honest..
1. First and most importantly, how can i directory NOT have a search function?
2. Design is not very attractive nor too professional looking. Some colors to divide the segments wld be very helpful.
3. Important links like adding URL should be somewhere near the top where visitors can access easily without having to scroll down. Some visitors never get that far.

Just some simple suggestions, i'm not an expert, so u decide =)

good luck!

Directories are all the rage at the moment and so you have to be quite unique to even stand a chance. You can do this by:
Hiring a graphics designer to create an awesome logo (or yourself if you can), when I think of 'blue fire', beautiful blue flames come to mind and so this could look very nice.
As the market is so congested, you'll have to make the actual content stand out. Maybe make it more graphic-orientated, especially if you follow the past suggestion.

Good luck

Re

I like the simplicity of your site and the color scheme. When I look at it, I know exactly where you want me to read and I'm not distracted.

You do need a search option like someone said. You also need to change the fonts. Those fonts are very "free templateish."

I do like your banner.

Good luck with everything.
