My Photography Portfolio :: FinerPixels

Hey all,

I need a review on the design/style/usage of my new photography portfolio:

FinerPixels

I recently got it online this week... (don't be afraid to take a look at the photography work if you want, too!) - I plan on re-doing the homepage. I'm not sure I like the full-size random image displayed there, and I might move the most recent images to the side, then put purchasing info below that.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/306595-my-photography-portfolio-finerpixels.html

Let me know what your thoughts are! (Compliments to Eric (ethayne) for designing it for me.)

.chulium.

Nicely done. works well overall, i'd just change the framework to present more of a completely closed off shape (box) rather than only a top and bottom line.

The interface itself is clear, easy to navigate, you just need an embedded email form, that would greatly improve the flow and usability.

The upcoming voting/commenting functionality is definitely needed, good idea to disable the "right click/copy" option. The next step would be to "blank" out the image if someone takes a screen shot.

Your header "Finer Pixels - Think Creative" needs to be bigger and more present.
Overall, it's a great site, looking sharp and detailed: out of 3 add the rest and you're closing in the full 3

Thanks for that review; but I have some questions.

1) How would an email form improve the flow and usability of the site?

2) If I made the title bigger and lower resolution monitors (1024x768 and less) couldn't display as much of the image on one size and reduced viewing pleasure, would it really be worth it? That's why it's smaller.

'Ppreciate it. Any more :-/ ?

1) currently users would have to either open another tab or browser window to access their email, copy and paste your email into recipient bar and then fire it off. It's leading users away from your content rich and visually entertaining site. This opens the door for users to get distracted by the content of their own email. Thus, your site would benefit from keeping users on your site, leaving them within your own content, not having them to open another browser window, etc. Thus, the flow would be improved and users retained. If you have google analytics, check where the exit points of your page are, if someone wants to email you right now, it would be an inevitable exit point.

2) good point, i guess i'm spoiled with 1440x900 resolution on my laptop.
