Please, review my Mazda-related website

Topic says it all. Website about Mazda - directory, member's rides and some news about the company.
Thanks in advance!
Here it is: http://varnavto.com/mazda/

Work in progress - links don't work.

Very much a cookie cutter template. There's nothing that instills the excitement in the user that this is THE place for Mazda aficionados to hang around at.
Mazda has quite some ralley experience from what i know, bring some of these images, present your site a bit more interactive than just a RX8 as header and then some links, there should be more visual tie in, more action. try to find embedded videos (youtube surely has some) and bring some of the Mazda lovers to the top.
The idea of Directory/Garage/News is generally a good one can be presented in a more visual form as well. What prevents you from using the stereotypical good looking female mechanic, etc.?
Use the backdrop to your advantage, right now its just colored space, play with it, get creative, there are ways to utilize this space without overloading the site.
Last but not least, come up with a custom logo for your site, it's going to transport your site a lot better.

These are just a few things that came to mind immediately.
For the idea and the current presentation: 1/3

i rather like the simplicity. the left column with the navigation is far to wide for the type of navigation that you are using.

Thanks to both of you for your comments.
I was actually thinking about creating a video section with embedded videos. Now I'll do it. I have replaced the RX-8 image on the top with an action pic of another Mazda. I have also made the navigation bar thinner and reworked the right column a bit.
I will post the reconstructed website later, when I'm ready with the coding.
Thanks once again!!
