Review my new domain name marketplace

www.FreeNameExchange.com

When I get some additional money, I want to incorporate the suggestions I have been receiving lately.

The top request has been a bulk upload feature.

Can you suggest new ways to improve your experience on the site?

Thank you!

First off, nice site! I like the style a lot. The 1,2,3, step process is a great way to show how simple it is and help explain how the site works so thats great too imo. The different ways to browse domains also looks good.

The things that stand out to me are the length of the side bar though with all the different categories. I'm not sure this is a bad thing though.

Perhaps you could add more content to the home page? To me it looks a little empty. The banner is quite large, again I'm not sure this is a bad thing but it might be one to think about.

Overall very nicely done in my opinion! Best of Luck,

Very nice but a little wide for my taste.

It's easier to hone users attention in on something if they don't have to scan their eyes accross the page so much.

I love the way a good grey, black and orange looks!

Regards,

625domains is on a distinguished road

Looks nice, one big problem:

Free Name Exchange:

http://www.freenameexchange.com/imag...-sliced_01.jpg

The logo makes it seem like it is an exchange of free domains, like a domain trader site kind of thing. I would change it so Free is one color and Domain Exchange is another, that conveys what your site does a lot better.
The way you have it now Free and Domain are one color and Exchange is another color.

Looks awesome so far. Good Luck!

The idea about changing colors in the logo is very reasonable, as the division you are using at the moment isn't logical. The add cointent, and also take care of the title tag, it lets the visitors see what your site is about.

Very nicely done. The items addressed in the other posts are quite good ideas, i would add some "visual" support of what your site sets out to do. You'll need some "recent sales" tab somewhere to prove the validity of your site and to generate "buy-in" from prospective clients.
other than that, very solid project! +1/2 out of 3

Not bad at all. I like the design. It's simple and to the point.
The only thing that I would suggest is to add more content after the Featured domains (maybe other listings). You might also want to add some text to your site to help out with search engines ranking.

At first I thought it was where you go to exchange free domains, but then I got the free exchange of domains. I would not worry about the possible misunderstanding, it's clear once you look around.

My idea: Syndicate your listings. Create a scaled down version of what you have and give it to me so I can host it in a sub directory. Provide code so I can create a cron job to pull and update file once a day. I get free content and send you visitors that find things they are interested in. On my site copy they can look but not touch.

And allow us to enter our FDE username in a config file that will "feature" our domains on our sites.

Thank you. I did not actually code the site but it was developed based on my specifications, which was based on feedback from th members of the NamePros forum.

Regards,
Thank you for your feedback. I love the black and orange as well. The width was dictated by all the features packed into the site, and the width of certain fields.

There is a feature built in for recent sales. As those sales accumulate, I will activate it! Thank you for the positive feedback.

One other member and I have been exchanging PM's about this very topic. I think you will love the next addition to the home page! Thank you for your impressions and ideas.

Fabulous ideas!!!! What else can I say other than I am going to be broke paying the designer to add these features, but I love 'em!

Definitely, many people have mentioned this, can you suggest the exact domain tools that are free and easy to implement?

Actually, the cost should not be too much, since all you will be doing is exporting some data. Since you want to promote your site, just export the info about the domains, not the owners. Those that want to help you/get content for their sites will take the data and use it and refer those interested back to your site. At least, that's what I'd like to do! :-) If your designer wants an arm and leg to set up the export, I can help you find someone more reasonable. Either way, I can pitch in some $ to help and I would think there are others that would as well.

Okay, I have compiled a list of suggestions (with few overlaps), but can you guys think of anything more:

Suggested Upgrades:
1) Statistical Domain evaluation tool
2) Bulk Upload Feature
3) SSL for personal page?
4) Views on the actual domain page
5) Premium Name Certifications
6) Add more content to the homepage
7) Rework the logo to let visitors know more about the site (Free Exchange of Domains)
8) Recent sales
9) More content after the featured listings
10) Add text to the site to help improve search ranking
11) Syndicate listings (provide code so site owner can create a cron job to pull and update file once a day; export domain and description but not user)
12) Links to domain tools

Awesome list! I'm glad to see my suggestion made the list. :-)

Text content: My thought was to encourage sellers to create a detailed description to help "sell" a domain. This could be a list of ideas for sites, or marketing ideas for a buyer.

For the domain stats tool, what do you guys think of this one:

Any other info or stats tools we should include?
