Directory Design

Take a look at my unigue Directory....
http://www.sacconference.com/ is a web Directory of the general theme....
It has a custom design, and I tried to differentiate it as much as possible from many of the standard PHP directories out there and make the links
as SEO friendly as possible. Please let me know anything that can improve the design......thanks in advance

You'll need some color, your site is way too light.
Also, it seems that the only way to submit is via a paymodel; if you're going down this road you need to show how many links there are in each category, give it a number value or users may not see the necessity to spend money on your site not knowing whether they'd be there alone or if its indeed a good investment.

Currently, you're looking rather empty, which is largely supported by the way you've designed the site; empty content boxes, etc.

not bad for a start, but there's work to be done.
