Interesting site. Simple flash animation as a welcome screen keeps the loading time down, i'd still add a little more color and variation to it. That applies not just to the welcome screen but goes throughout the site.
I like the concept of simplicity and not too many gimmicks as well as visual disturbances, but you take it actually a few steps further, i'd get a little more
"active" on your site. a little more color, and even if its only accents...

other than that, keep the simple approach, just maybe put something on the main site after the welcome flash, that explains the purpose of the site.

The idea of the colorlesness is that when i post a image or anything else with color it realy comes out of the screen. I have tryed to play a litte with blue or orange but it realy takes all the focus off the reading window if i just change the header the footer or the menus and i dont want to change the reading window since it would take too long i am lazy. Do you have any ideas of any gimmicks i could put in? maby some gif buttons in the left menu.. I am going to add a description of what the site is all about but i think i am going to add it to the intro so you dont always have to look at it when you enter it. thx for the input
