Hey, Please review MX-518-review.com !

Hey,

Ive just done a bit of a redesign on one of my websites, www.mx-518-review.com .
The idea of of the redesign to make the site look more kind of "at you" and vibrant, which is it compared to the old site ( google cache )
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/web-design-reviews/276975-hey-please-review-mx-518-review.html

The site is targeted towards gamers who are looking to buy a new gaming mouse.

I would be very grateful if you could give a review of the site, im mostly looking for things needing improvment.

cheers everyone;

Hey,

Cool site, but the logo is to tall imo. The writing needs to start futher up on the page.

Just my 2 cents.

Ed,

generally, i like the idea of what you're doing. One item at a time, clear and neat presentation, all in all good job. (So much about the first impression...)

BUT!

I agree with fleecedotnet

It's also not dominant enough. < Make it larger

Especially the length of your domain BEGS for a logo that brands itself into the users mind.
Make the logo functional, as in: Click the logo to bookmark this site. Or to enter the archives....Which i hope you will establish once you have more than one review. The power you need to leverage is ease of access, especially in terms of historic information. < make an archive and have it easily searchable.

The description and tests themselves seem to be very hand-on. The writing is not quite the journalistic style, which in your case, works greatly in your advantage, as you're the "buddy next door" giving an opinion about a product. Help me out here though. What does the mouse look like? Where can i get it? What are the costs?
I'm missing the visual stimuli to entice me that the product is available for me. Hook up with programs that let you generate some money in the event of a sale. I know, you have the Amazon plug in running, but until you tie the mouse to amazon, as a user, i'm not going to bother to even check it out. I'd expect to see, "you can get this mouse at....." make it easy for the reader to purchase the mouse.
You've done a good job in the review, site design (except logo) and conceptual idea, but you dropped the ball in the "business area".

Thanks very much for the comments guys.

Looking back at the site, the logo does seem to leave a bit desired, I think your right about it needing to leave more of an impression to brand the site. I think im going to try and tackle the logo first.

As for the visual area of the size, it’s a work in progress. I have most of the pictures ready to be put on the site already but the camera died before I got all the pictures I need so once I get them and edit them I’ll put them up.

As for the Amazon links I think your totally right. I think I might now try using the affiliate-program to try and bring in some extra revenue as a bonus.

I also think the interactivity of the logo is a great idea which im going to implement once I redo the logo.

Thanks very much guys, rep coming your way for sure.

cheers;

very bright too much red going on first thing that catches my eye is the logo use white text for the words instead of the 518 being white. Could also add a content box in the middle seems pretty empty or, maybe move the content box on the bottom up under the logo so people get a glimpse of the content instead of having to scroll down.
